Shortly before the upcoming summer break, the entire SuSy consortium Siemens Energy MEYER WERFT GmbH & Co. KG Hamburg University of Technology Lloyd’s Register Schneider Electric Damen will be meeting again at our project partner DLR Institute for Networked Energy Systems in Oldenburg. A great opportunity to put our heads together and get in the mood for the final spurt in the Susy project.
Despite difficult conditions due to two Corona years, the consortium has grown together strongly as a team. The goal of the Susy project, to enable a sustainable energy supply for #electric #ships through #direct current, is within reach. But as it always is with innovation; it usually takes longer than expected… and the final spurt will be crucial.
This time, external speakers have also been invited: very interesting and enriching presentations from Technische Hochschule Ostwestfalen-Lippe Next Factory.
The examples from industry show that it is worthwhile to switch from the complex and lossy alternating current supply to direct current. To exchange ideas with others and to learn from the good, as well as the bad, experiences. We can take away many innovative development approaches for the #DC supply on ships from this.
Many thanks to the DLR-Oldenburg organising team, especially #Robert and #Holger, perfectly organised, even at the after-work event 😊.
See you at the next meeting.
