What is the grid impedance?
Grid impedance is a decisive factor for the behavior and stability of power grids. It describes the interaction between voltage and current and has a significant influence on how electrical energy flows through the grid…
Detect electrical issues early – measure your network impedance!
What makes the ‘Magic Box’ ONIS so special? In this part of our short video series, Anton explains how we track down dangerous resonances in the power grid, why they are so dangerous and what can be done about them! (The answer is simple and starts with an O).

What is impedance ?
Impedance is the complex resistance of electrical components such as coils, capacitors or resistors. It is therefore an important variable in complex alternating current technology and is characterised by the formula symbol 𝑍. The complex impedance 𝑍 can optionally be expressed in Cartesian coordinates as a real and imaginary part $$Z = R + jX$$, which represent active and reactive components, or in Eulerian representation $$Z = |Z| \cdot e^{j \varphi}$$ by magnitude and phase.
